I finally embark on the journey of blogging after many failed attempts and unperturbed subconscious-will to start one..

Why DecorXpressions? I have grown up seeing my mom taking utmost interest in home decoration, buying art pieces and using them to enhance the interiors of our home in her own creative way. When I was at home, never really understood how much influence she had on me. When I came all the way to USA, far away from home and started 'my' life is when I found how much I was like her! My journey with roomies, getting an apartment, buying cheap furniture and managing a home had begun in 2004. Even as a student, with bare minimum furnishings, I used to thrive to make the house ,a home. Since I was so homesick, I wanted someplace where I come back from school and feel like home. May be I wanted MY home here!

Life has tranformed in these 5 1/2 years.. So many apartments and roomies later now I have set a home with my husband (a rental one for now!). Each time I have moved places, I have a child-like enthusiasm. I get really thrilled by the way I can move the furniture around and give a new look to the place I live. Its my favorite project for the first one month of moving. I love to play around with colors and contrasts. I like a dash of ethnicity to a contemporary corner. Over last couple months I have expressed my interest to my husband about starting a blog with my thoughts on decor and lifestyle..but never really sat down to create one. Knowing my real interest and to encourage me, my dear hubby created this blog and gifted to me on my birthday to kick start to my blogging-life and aptly named it DecorXpressions..:)

I want to use this blog to share my ideas on home decor and get further inputs and better ideas to improve them..I am sure this journey will be really interesting...So let the thoughts flow! :)
